Description:
Hodge Vegetation Control & C&D Vegetation Control is an Alberta based company specializing in industrial and commercial vegetation control services. We are a growing and expanding company looking for the right individuals to add to our team. Our values set us aside as we strive for safety, integrity, quality and trust.
We are currently seeking 10+ positions for the 2025 season. This is a summer position with the possibility for full time year round employment for the right individual. This position is great for summer university students looking to work long hours, alongside would be great for environmental students looking for experience on the herbicide side of reclamation.
Tax free living out allowance is paid to individuals when working away from home base (Whitecourt, AB). We can provide summer housing to candidates who do not currently live in Whitecourt.
Work is primarily within 150km of Whitecourt, AB
Responsibilities:
- Mixing and applying herbicides to lease sites, ROW, facilities, reclamation sites, roads and county owned parcels.
- Operate spray equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to work independently and with other individuals in a team manner.
- Able to properly record information for application records.
- Able to use various equipment including: 2 ton trucks, trailers, UTVs, ATVs, Argos, hagglunds, & backpacks. All applicants are adequately trained on the use and safe operation of equipment prior to any use. Please note not every applicant will be using all equipment listed above.
Requirements:
- Standard First Aid CPR Level C
- H2S Alive
- Valid class 5 License with a clean drivers abstract
- Willing to work long hours and weekends
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding work
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to listen to instruction
- CSA approved steel toed boots/Fire Retardant Coveralls
Assets: (not required)- All safety tickets listed below will be provided by our company
- UTV, ATV, Argo safety tickets/and previous use
- Herbicide Applicators license
- Previous herbicide experience
- Past farm or small engine experience
- Agricultural background
- Ability to identify noxious weeds
- Trailering experience
