Job Overview
The Vendor Compliance Analyst will perform a variety of analytical tasks related to monitoring trends and determining adherence in our vendor performance. The role will also help to design the business process, develop reporting, and provide data-driven insights that are scalable. Once these are in place, the analysts will work together with the vendors and partnering teams in order to improve the vendors’ on-time and in-full fill rates, directly contributing to optimized inventory levels, an improved service level to our stores, and a reduction in lost sales.
Essential Duties
- Be a subject matter expert and participate in the building out of the vendor compliance program
- Develop reporting for vendor performance (adherence tracking)
- Identify non-compliant operations, determine root cause, and assess if a business process change or vendor charge is required
- Partner with vendors, merchants, and inventory planning teams to address process changes and improve vendor performance
- Monitor metrics for trends in data and report on findings
- Create a vendor dashboard incorporating metrics additional to compliance to support merchant negotiations
- Continual evolution and improvement of the vendor compliance program as it matures
Experience & Education
- Previous experience with retail product flow
- Preferred 3+ years’ experience in vendor compliance or vendor management in the retail sector
- Previous experience in an analytical role
- Experience with data analysis, KPI development, and report building
- Experience implementing/managing EDI a plus
Competencies or Technical Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Able to influence across multiple internal teams to ensure actions are executed
- Able to build and maintain good working relationships with vendors
- Structured and creative thinking; ability to switch easily between big picture and small details
- Ability to analyze and derive actionable insights from large data sets
- Ability to manipulate said large data sets is a plus (SQL/DB2/MS Access)
- Knowledge of VBA, SSMS, and Tableau is a plus
