Exciting Opportunity: Senior Software Developer
We’re seeking a talented Developer to join our vibrant Platform Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenges, with a focus on creating innovative solutions. You will use your curious mind, refined problem-solving ability, and code writing expertise to bring fresh new ideas to life. Your contribution will help Verafin fight crimes such as human trafficking, elder abuse, and drug trafficking and you’ll join a large team who is equally passionate about making a difference. What You’ll Do:

  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment: develop, automate, secure, and operationalize standard application configuration, build processes, and publishing processes across the business.
  • Communication: Maintain ongoing open communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, primarily developers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Deep knowledge of CICD particularly using Gradle and Jenkins
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Groovy, Java, Terraform
  • Experience with GitHub, automated testing, and security scanning
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of security principles
  • Experience being a product core maintainer, particularly growing a product to support development teams
  • 1-3 years development experience
  • A university degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • AWS familiarity or certifications would be an asset
  • Experience with StandardEyes (internal tool) would be an asset

  • Understanding the goals of the team and the development organization, and using leadership and problem-solving skills to achieve them
  • Producing clean and efficient code
  • Consistently iterating on coding practices for continuous improvement
  • Successfully automating away pain points of the developer CICD process
