Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. Our Advanced Technology business is where we combine our pace and agility with free-thinking to deliver complex engineering solutions and specialist manufacturing programmes to the automotive, aerospace, marine, and defence sectors, accelerating the net zero journey for our customers.
Prodrive AT’s specialities are the design; development and production of smart actuation systems, particularly in the Active Aero and Intelligent Interior domains, as well as vehicle-level programmes. Current activity includes multiple automotive Active Aero and Intelligent Interior projects in the smart actuation domain; an L7e urban delivery vehicle and active torque dynamics for military applications at vehicle-level – as well as a variety of other mobility and low-carbon programmes including hydrogen storage and hydrogen fuel cell systems.
We are seeking a Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to help to consolidate, develop, and drive Prodrive’s physical verification and validation capabilities. In this role you will ensure that system performance is robustly verified against customer and system requirements by the appropriate virtual and physical tests.
Responsibilities:
- Work to help define, implement, and manage system DVPs including the detailed specification of virtual and physical tests, hardware requirements and schedules, covering multiple physics disciplines:
- Electrical/electronics, controls, software, NVH, structural, durability, dynamics, thermal, fluids, environmental
- Work with project technical lead, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to establish appropriate system V&V requirements, methodology, validate DFMEAs, and populate risk registers.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and establish alignment of virtual and physical DV test plans, test specifications, and schedules.
- Practice visualising the system physical phenomena and testing requirements to guide planning of virtual and physical test execution and provide a good balance of time, cost, and quality.
- Plan and execute internal test activities (hands-on), including estimating, planning, risk assessments, setup, testing, and reporting, to meet requirements.
- Construct reports appropriate for the intended audience to Prodrive style requirements.
- Monitor system V&V progress against schedule, giving a clear status to project lead, technical lead, and interfacing teams, using the appropriate Prodrive quality documents (e.g., CAE tracker)
- Help to advise on testing methods and relevant standards as our collective experiences grow.
- Contribute to V&V team quality assurance: conduct peer reviews and help ensure that Prodrive milestone deliverables are met.
- Aid in business development activities, including proposals and project estimating.
