Metrology Engineer (m/f/d)
The Alignment Team within the AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) department is responsible for all alignment tasks during the satellite integration phases. This includes the precise alignment of various instruments such as star trackers, propulsion thrusters and other components.

Your Tasks

  • Support for various satellite projects in the creation of alignment plans. This means:
  • Checking the alignment requirements and converting them into an alignment plan
  • Identification of the measurement methods to be used
  • Definition of a suitable sequence of measurements
  • Creating the necessary procedures for the alignment
  • Carrying out the measurements with theodolites, laser trackers and SpatialAnalyzer
  • Evaluating the measurement results and summarizing them in test reports
  • Training of personnel as far as recurring measurement tasks are concerned
  • Developing standards for alignment measurements

Your Qualifications

  • Completed engineering studies in the field of surveying, mechanical, aerospace engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Focus on optical measurements with several years of professional experience
  • Familiar with the use of theodolites and laser trackers
  • Good knowledge of SpatialAnalyzer as a tool for measurement execution and analysis
  • Ideally several years of experience with alignment in space and with the necessary documentation
  • High level of communication and teamwork skills
  • High motivation and ability to work independently
  • Good conceptual and analytical skills
  • High flexibility
  • Working under time pressure is a challenge, but not a problem for you
  • Willingness for travelling and shift work occasionally
  • Fluent written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage
