RSPCA Queensland is a non-government, community-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of domestic, farmed, and native animals in Queensland. Our mission statement is simple but powerful: Together We Change Lives.
RSPCA Queensland has Domestic Hospitals located in Wacol, Dakabin, and Toowoomba, as well as clinics in Noosa and Cairns providing care to over 17,000 domestic animals every year.
Responsibilities:
RSPCA Noosa & Gympie Shelters are looking for an experienced and dedicated veterinary Nurse to join a small team of dedicated people in providing the highest standards of clinical care. This role will best suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where each day is varied and is passionate about collaborating as part of a team. Domestic and wildlife patients are admitted to the clinic via members of the public, RSPCA animal ambulances, Community Outreach program, Inspectorate and internal transfers from regional shelters.
- Provide stability and leadership in the day-to-day operations within the Noosa & Gympie clinics.
- Hospital equipment and stock levels are maintained and ordered as needed.
- Provide both medical and surgical nursing care to animals in the care of RSPCA Qld.
- Perform routine laboratory and pathology tests.
- Assist Veterinarians in handling and treating of animals.
- Administer routine veterinary treatments and medications.
- Triage incoming animals and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure efficient running of the veterinary clinic.
- Assist with basic Veterinary Reception duties such as data entry, booking appointments and maintaining up to date and accurate patient records.
Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital is always maintained.Attend RSPCA events including Community activation days, microchipping events and fundraising days.
