YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Caboolture Veterans’ and Families’ Hub is dedicated to welcoming Australian Defence Force Veterans and their families. The Hub will provide integrated support to current and ex-service personnel and families.
This will be achieved by offering a multiservice suite for Veterans, which may include health and mental health services, well-being support, RSL-based advocacy, employment and housing advice, social connection, and access to counselling and support.

- Increase community awareness of challenges among veterans and their families.
- Actively engage with the local providers in the health, community, education, and training sectors to provide responsive, integrated support services and activities for veterans and their families.
- Facilitate community participation and support for the Wellbeing Hub, organise and deliver activities and special events to engage veterans and their families.
- Design and coordinate appropriate events for veterans and their families.
- Create and deliver necessary information to successfully market and publicise events.
- Work in collaboration with other staff to create networks and provide information and advice on available local community support services to Veterans and their families.Ensure accessible information is provided to people, families, and the local community to increase the communities capacity to connect with appropriate health and wellbeing supports at the time they are needed.
The gross salary for this role ranges between $43.08 to $46.36 per hour plus super. The salary on offer will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, knowledge, and experience.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for a part-time, 15 hours per week, Veterans and Family Engagement Coordinator. This is a maximum term contract until mid- December 2025. Working hours in this position will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9am and 2pm each week, with some flexibility.
In this key position you will actively support the integration of veterans and their families with services within the local community by creating, evaluating, and maintaining partnerships with veterans and community partners such as government services, community service providers, regional health providers, Ex Service Organisations (ESO’s), local businesses, volunteer community and sporting groups.
Operating within a community development framework, you will also be involved in community development and outreach activities. You will participate in events to increase the number of active participants in the Hub’s programs and promote services within the community.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, THERE ARE SOME ESSENTIALS YOU’LL NEED:
- Tertiary qualifications in community development, community services, mental health, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of consumer participation and advocating for and on behalf of veterans.
- Passion for and proven experience in delivering community development initiatives, health promotion, and community-based activities.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with the community, establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, carers and key stakeholders and collaborative partners.
- Demonstrated knowledge of veteran affairs/ services.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement and report on program activity.
- Strong communication (including written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and proven ability to exercise autonomy and work with competing priorities.Demonstrated understanding of the needs of people from diverse backgrounds including Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and LGBTIQ, communities.
