Your next big opportunity. Shenick Veterinary Centre have an exciting opening for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their team in Skerries.
ABOUT US
Shenick Veterinary Centre is a group of three Small Animal practices located in Skerries, Balbriggan and Stamullen. Our referral centre in Skerries is a busy, fast-paced, first-opinion practice with all the mod cons required to ensure a high level of veterinary care is offered to our large, dedicated client base.
Our phenomenal team is made up of three Veterinary Surgeons, two veterinary nurses, one animal care assistant, and a superb support team.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
This is a position for an experienced RVN and would not be suitable for a new graduate.
- Registered with the VCI
- Experience in first opinion practice, especially in Anaesthesia and Nurse consultations
- Must be a team player
- Some leadership skills would be desirable, or interest in developing same
Responsibilities:
- Maternity cover position – Specific Purpose Contract to start in November 2024
- Salary up to €36,000 (or €17.31 per hour) commensurate with experience and subject to pro-rata
- Up to 40 hours per week – open to discussing part-time/flexi-time with the right candidate
- 1 in 3 Saturdays
- No OOH, bank holidays, or Sunday work
The main purpose of this role is to work cohesively with the nursing team to ensure excellent team work and to maintain the highest level of clinical care. You will be expected to:
- Assist with surgical procedures, including management of anaesthesia and analgesia
- Guide and support student VN’s
- Perform nursing consultations
- Manage inpatients and their care
- Communicate with clients and maintain a high professional standard
- Maintain a good working relationship with all members of the practice
