Job Title: Veterinary Receptionist
Salary: £11.56 per hour
Location: Village Vet, Milton and other Cambridge branches
Job Type: 10 Month Fixed-term, Part-time
Hours: 36.55 hours per week
Shifts: Various shifts on a rota basis including Saturday mornings.
An exciting opportunity has opened at Village Vet for an experienced and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to join our team on a 10 month fixed-term contract.
We would like to hear from candidates who are friendly, customer-focused and confident working in a busy environment.
The position will best suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for providing excellent customer service

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Customer facing experience
  • Strong administration and organisation skills
  • Confident, committed and able to work well in pressured and emergency situations.
  • Confident using the telephone
  • Reception or Client Care experience
  • Cash handling and till operation
  • IT skills – confident in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum.

We also work closely with other local practices providing 24 hour support as their emergency veterinary provider

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deal with appointment bookings professionally and efficiently.
  • Support the business with a range of administrative duties.
  • Dispensing medication.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and still maintain a high level of customer service and complete all tasks to a high standard.
  • Show awareness of financial control within the practice.
  • Be happy to discuss financial issues with clients if needs be
  • Management of the practice diary to ensure all patients are booked in efficiently.
  • Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Cleaning the consultation and waiting areas throughout the day.
  • Serving clients and taking payments, advising customers on products and services.
  • Banking duties.
