Description:

VETERINARY TALENT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The Veterinary Talent Development Specialist is crucial to our organizational success, responsible for designing, implementing, and organization of talent and development programs for paraprofessional veterinary roles including Practice Managers (PMs), Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs). This role focuses on creating effective orientation, onboarding, and ongoing talent development initiatives, ensuring that all people in these key positions are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to work and grow in a veterinary practice environment.
The specialist will work remotely while collaborating with core stakeholders to identify training needs, develop curriculum, and evaluate program effectiveness and support talent processes. Additionally, this role will support the advancement of our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring relevant curriculum is accessible across all roles.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education, Veterinary Technology (required). Additional credentials, such as VTS, or CVPM, a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary practice, with at least 2 years in a leadership or training role.
  • Experience in creating and delivering learning and development programs for veterinary paraprofessional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary practice operations.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective training programs.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Suite products including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.
  • Travel expectations are 10% or less.
  • Frequent to moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Frequent ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (lift, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.
