JOB SUMMARY:

ILM’s Studio Talent Group (STG) has an opportunity for a VFX Trainer to join our team! The VFX Trainer is responsible for the design, development, and instruction of training courses for new and current employees in all global studios, with a focus on ILM’s Vancouver studio.
We are looking for a Trainer who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative approach and passion for extraordinary filmmaking that defines ILM.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with studio leaders to understand technical training requirements
  • Build, evaluate and maintain technical documentation using Confluence
  • Work closely with the Training Coordinators to schedule and set up training
  • Deliver virtual technical training courses to ILM employees around the globe
  • Customize new starter technical training to meet the needs and goals of each trainee
  • Evaluate and report on trainee progress to the Director of Talent Development, and appropriate department managers and production supervisors
  • Partner closely with Talent Management and the Heads of Departments to identify and address gaps in technical ability
  • Work on Jedi Academy efforts through developing curriculum and documentation for emerging talent, e.g. apprentices, graduates, interns, etc.
  • As needed by production, carry out shotwork in your assigned artist groups
