We are looking for an experienced Vice President to join the investment team of the Advanced Bioenergy Fund in Copenhagen, Denmark.

THE TEAM

We are the Advanced Bioenergy Fund Investment Team, and we are looking for you - our new team member who will join us on our mission to make a true and tangible impact on the global challenge of climate change.
The Advanced Bioenergy Fund contributes to decarbonizing sectors such as industry, maritime shipping, and agriculture. We achieve that by investing in circular solutions that convert organic waste products into sustainable green gas, fuels and fertilizers.
We are a strong, social, and dynamic team with a passion for making a difference. Our team sees these projects through – from the initial idea through construction to operations.

THE CANDIDATE

The work environment at CIP is fast paced, stimulating, global and demanding. We are therefore looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional holding a relevant master’s degree within Economics, Finance or other related fields.

Key qualifications include:

  • 7-10 to years of relevant, professional experience from private equity, infrastructure funds or large corporates. You likely bring a background in FP&A with expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Holistic portfolio view with an asset manager approach processing excellent financial skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial modelling, risk modelling and valuation skills with the ability to understand mechanics of different financial products
  • Action oriented and thrives with the challenge of a complex financial problem
  • Ability to contribute to the overarching logic of a long-term business case when dealing with the senior partnership and can also step into the detail when discussing detailed aspects of the portfolio
  • Experience in rapidly growing teams and businesses as well as exposure to critical governance, structures and processes in an international environment is preferable
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders, being forceful and decisive when required
  • Team oriented. Able to work with and provide sparring to young financial analysts.
  • You are proactive, think ahead and stay hands-on
  • A self-starter attitude with tenacity, initiative and willingness to commit to deliver required results

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior management with fund level analysis (qualitative as well as quantitative)
  • Own the project financial model and ensure that the model is maintained and used consistently across the projects
  • Review and challenge the financial models for development projects especially towards financial investment decisions
  • Fund Management: Portfolio performance, LPA compliance, cash flow forecast, etc
  • Asset transaction: E.g., transferring assets between funds (at arm’s length)
  • Be the “financial wizard” in terms of financial and risk analysis
  • Investor communication about portfolio updates/performance (both directly to LPs but also to Investment Committees)
  • Financial reporting towards CIP management and investors
  • Provide a coherent reporting structure, documenting processes, procedures, guidelines and collaborating with the external and internal stakeholders, e.g., portfolio reporting vis-a-vis cost and time budget, IRR, NPV, quality, ESG, HSE, and CAPEX
  • Prepare/review analysis and communication material for decision making on a senior management level as well as high quality reporting to investors on investments’ financial performanc
