The Vice President , Capital Services and Solutions i s a critical leadership position within the Global Technical Services (GTS) organization . This position has responsib ility for the effective and efficient deployment of BMS internal capital investment dollars - a scope of spend that is nearly $1 .5 B annually . Th e incumbent will serve as the Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) process owner for capital project budgeting, capital project prioritization/allocation, and the field management of strategic capital projects .
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Capital Services and Solutions is a critical leadership position with impact at BMS enterprise level .” The role is complex , multifunctional, and multiregional, requiring effective engagement with Global Finance, the GPS leadership team, the Commercial leadership team, the R&D leadership team, and the Cell Therapy business unit .
In the current budget horizon (2025-202 8) this leadership position will oversee the execution of BMS B oard of D irector approved capital projects , with an aggregate spend in excess of $1.8 B .
Further , this leader will be a play a defining role in the GPS Geo-location strategy, with an expectation to design and build a n engineering capability suite for inclusion in the Hyderabad Capability Center.

- Mentor, drive and lead network learning and professional development of team
- Knowledge of total project delivery requirements (from concept to validation / commissioning and startup process) .
- Possesses broad knowledge of the functional requirements of pharmaceutical facilities and engineering best practices
- Design a balance d set of global guidelines/standards that account for enterprise standardization requirements while accommodating local needs and expertise
- Ensure compliance with Bristol Myers Squibb"Global Engineering Governance model, standards and finance requirements - while demonstrating a willingness to improve those models and standards
- Provide leadership in the management of relationships between GTS and key stakeholders across the enterprise
- Understanding of regulatory, environmental, GMP and safety regulations
Requirements/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required . MBA preferred
- Minimum 1 0 years’ experience in life science or life science adjacent
- Experience managing large portfolio of projects across various sites, projects ranging from small investments to $400,000,000+ each.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skill
- Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary and multi-functional teams and demonstrated strength in stakeholder management.
- Excellent planning, organizing, analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong seasoned background and understanding in the planning, design, procurement, scheduling, execution and closure of projects
- Ability to use discretion with sensitive/confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint and SAP
- Interpersonal / facilitation skills necessary to interface with and influence all levels of management.
- Previous seasoned interactions with a variety of customers, such as manufacturing, R&D, and maintenance.
- Approx 25% -50% travel
- Desired location is European based BMS site , given field location of major projects . US locations will be considered . Final location will effect travel percentage.
Physical / Mental Demands
- Occasional stooping, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and/or light lifting may be required
- Ability to sit, stand, walk and move within workspace for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks including hand to finger manipulations, grasping, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas.
