WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Extensive experience in a Compliance Surveillance role or delivering projects in relation to Surveillance.
  • Knowledge of MAR and conduct regulatory requirements and being able to identify risks in relation to potential Market Abuse
  • Good knowledge of FX global code and FSMB good practices
  • Up to date knowledge of the FCA handbook
  • Good knowledge of FX, Equities, OTC and Fixed Income markets
  • Experience in UAT, communications with external vendors and documentation of the project outcomes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good knowledge on, Equities, OTC Cash and Derivatives and Fixed Income products
  • Experience in macros and ability to amend macros
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Strong understanding of Banking risks and regulations
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to produce high quality output and meet tight deadlines
  • Problem solving, analysis and reporting skills

Providing SME knowledge on products traded and how the risks associated with the trading activity/ communications may be mitigated through the vendor tools Coordinating and taking part in UAT to ensure that the specifications provided by the vendor is sufficient to cover the risks and that the output is as expected. Liaise with the project PM, the vendor and other Divisions to progress on key project deliverables where necessary

  • Meet tight deadlines and adjust your priorities to meet urgent deadlines.
  • Ensure that documentation in relation to the project is drafted, updated and kept according to internal standards.
  • Help out on other team members activities when required.
  • Escalate and action, follow up items to resolution.
  • Suggest enhancements and controls to manual monitoring and advise and provide enhancements where necessary.
  • Follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.
  • Identify market trends, emerging risk scenarios and approaches to trade surveillance.
  • Suggest and be proactive in ways to develop and enhance the existing processes and develop new processes for identifying and monitoring Compliance and Conduct Risk.
  • Work closely with staff in other control functions, Head Office, the front office, First Line and senior management, to educate them on compliance issues and challenge their activities.
  • Ensure that the second line Compliance staff act as an independent challenge to the front office, escalating any concerns about breaches or law, regulation or internal policies

Responsibilities:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You will be the Head of Strategy and Governance team in the Surveillance team. The main purpose of the role is to deliver projects related to Communications and Trade surveillance across bank and securities, ensuring that the risks related to the relevant activities are covered and that adequate UAT is completed to ensure fully functional system upon go live.
As part your development and collaboration within Surveillance you may also be asked to support wider initiatives and undertake other tasks and responsibilities in the team and train junior members of the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Surveillance team, you will provide the following services to the department:

  • Applying experience as a Surveillance SME to deliver Surveillance related projects. This will include, but not limited to;
