Description:

Your Impact at Empire
As one of the the senior financial executives for our Canada Operations division of Empire Communities, you will support the business segment of development and homebuilding in Canada. Your expertise will be leveraged for executing strategy for all aspects of forecasting and reporting as well as managing the accounting operations by establishing and maintaining accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls for the Division.
This role is located at our Empire Canada Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day

  • Lead team in ensuring that each accounting, control, audit, and financial information is accurately developed, analyzed, and reported to management.
  • Implement consistent financial reporting policies, practices, and procedures across Canada
  • Plan, direct, monitor, and coordinate all Division operational accounting functions and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory GAAP requirements.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls for each Division to ensure appropriate company policies, procedures, and accounting activities to comply with regulatory GAAP/Canada requirements.
  • Direct the timing to produce Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial statements in compliance with Empire Corporate Accounting policies.
  • Develop and execute forward planning strategies incorporating creation of predictive models for cash management, asset deployment, sensitivity analysis and risk mitigation
  • Perform regular analysis on the effectiveness of operational and financial policies and procedures, to streamline, standardize, and enhance the effectiveness of those processes.
  • Review and approval of capital allocation, asset management, certification of financial statements, planning and forecasting, internal controls, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
