Description:

Position SummaryOversees the financial, operational, and technological activities of the YWCA. These functional areas include accounting, billing, financial planning and forecasting, IT/ technology, treasury management, risk management, property/facilities management and administration. This position supervises the Accounting and Operations/Facilities Management team.

Oversees the daily operations of the Finance department, ensuring accurate, GAAP compliant, and timely fiscal administration.2. Hires and supervises accounting and administrative staff and designated vendors (IT/technology and facilities management, and others as specified by CFO & SVP of Compliance, providing performance management in a consistent and timely manner.3. Assists the Chief Financial Officer & SVP of Compliance and other appropriate staff in developing budget forecasts and in long- and short-term financial planning including capital expenditure budgets for the agency.4. Develops or assists in the development of performance measures that support the YWCA’s strategic direction.5. Manages cash flow and forecasting and directs all financial and project-based accounting.6. Oversees the daily operations of the administration functions, ensuring efficient, maximum usage of all administrative outcome areas (i.e. technology, property and designated administrative staffing and coverage).7. Ensures that accurate monthly financial reports are prepared and presented per established schedules.8. Ensures financial activities of the organization are conducted according to generally accepted accounting principles for not-for-profit corporations.9. Assists independent auditors with the annual A-133 organization audit.10. Assists independent auditors with the preparation of the organization’s annual 990 return.11. Ensures the Indirect Cost Plan is prepared and submitted in a timely fashion.12. Ensures the organization’s Charitable Solicitation renewal is prepared and submitted in a timely fashion.13. Manages all grant billing processes, ensuring that invoices are generated in compliance with relevant grant agreements.14. Ensures that the organization is in compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements related to financial information and reports.15. Manages organization’s capital projects by negotiating with vendors, managing vendors to budget and timelines and assisting in funding projects as designated by the CFO & SVP of Compliance.16. Responsible for the organization’s Treasury Management including line of credit borrowings.Additional Responsibilities1. Prepares, implements and monitors monthly and annual budgets.2. Reviews present internal controls and implement internal control procedures.3. Ensures that the organization’s physical facilities are operating at maximum efficiency and usage, with minimal operational deficiencies or compromise.4. Develops and revises financial and managerial accounting policies and procedures.5. Performs other related duties assigned by the Chief Operating Officer & SVP of Compliance.6. Provides backup support for facility-related emergencies during and after normal business hours.7. When necessary, responds to IT-related issues during and after normal business hours.Minimum RequirementsEducation and ExperiencePosition requires at least 10 years of experience, with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar area of focus (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum 5 years of nonprofit fiscal management and operations experience including supervisory experience preferred.Physical Requirements• Ability to sit for extended periods working on a computer.
Other Requirements• Position requires the incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for the last three years.• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, when needed.Skill Competencies• High proficiency with Financial Edge NXT accounting software, Questica budgeting software, and Microsoft Office Products; demonstrated experience with other accounting/general ledger software may be substituted for Financial Edge NXT.• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.• Proficiency in budget development, particularly budgets with a high percentage of grant funding.• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills.• Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with success in presenting information with clarity and precision to a wide variety of audiences.• (Already stated above.)
