The Early-Stage Banking team (‘ESB’) is focused on originating and building deep and authentic client relationships with pre-seed to Series A founders, clients, and partners primarily in the UK. The ESB team is growing fast, and we have lots of exciting initiatives in the pipeline. To support this growth, we are looking for a Vice President to join ESB to help cement our position as the leading bank for technology & life science companies.

Responsibilities:
Managing and developing the strategic banking relationship of a portfolio of early-stage ClimateTech and Sustainability companies at different growth stages (accelerator-level, seed, seed+ and Series A).
Cross-selling HSBC Innovation Banking’s platform and products to address and anticipate client business needs, collaborating with the wider HSBC group to drive value and growth.
Growing the portfolio and HSBC Innovation Banking’s Seed & Series A market share by performing pro-active origination of new clients and by developing meaningful ecosystem relationships with companies, accelerators, VCs, Fractional CFOs and other innovators in the ClimateTech community.
Working collaboratively with the wider ClimateTech team, focussed on later stage companies.
Building and maintaining strong alignment and collaborations among internal cross-functional teams (Relationship Management, Early-Stage Ecosystem Coverage, Global Treasury, Financial Crime) to optimize the client experience.
Keeping abreast of market, sector and competitive trends, developing and delivering insights to clients as well as to the wider HSBC Innovation Banking team.
Developing the HSBC Innovation Banking brand by both creating and being in the market at industry events and conferences and creating high quality media, speaking and thought leadership opportunities.

Requirements
Deep understanding of the ClimateTech Seed/Series A ecosystem, including the fundraising process and journey. Ideally, your experience will be from startups, industry, investing, or consulting within the innovation economy.
Pre-existing network and relationships across key channels in the ClimateTech ecosystem including accelerators, incubators, law firms, accountants, corporate finance advisors, universities, industry groups and early-stage VC & angel investors.
Excellent client servicing experience & client origination skills to run, build, and expand a high-quality client portfolio. Ideally, experience with company evaluation/due diligence and a consistent track record of delivering results.
Authentic relationship building skills with expertise in crafting long-term, sales-orientated relationships, as well as being very self-motivated and success driven.
