EXTERNAL AFFAIRS SERVICE UNIT:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s External Affairs Service Unit brings together environmental and regulatory compliance, land management, Indigenous, community and government relations, internal and external communications and ESG strategy and reporting.
Join the team! Pembina is currently seeking a Vice President, External Affairs. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, External Affairs & Chief Legal & Sustainability Officer, the Vice President will play a crucial and strategic role in leading the External Affairs Service Unit. On a daily basis, this individual will serve as a trusted and highly esteemed advisor to the Senior Vice President and the wider Officer team.
The Vice President, External Affairs will work alongside other executive leadership team members to develop long-term objectives, strategies, plans, and policies that will benefit Pembina’s four key stakeholder groups: shareholders, employees, customers, and communities. The VP is responsible for ensuring that Pembina consistently meets or surpasses all relevant regulatory and legal standards within their areas of responsibility.
The Vice President, External Affairs holds a critical leadership position in the organization. This role demands strategic thinking, superior communication abilities, and a solid grasp of industry trends. The individual in this role is expected to uphold Pembina’s core values: Safe, Trustworthy, Collaborative Respectful, and Entrepreneurial.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree combined with 10 + years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in external affairs or a related field;
- Proven track record in leading complex technical organizations, with a blend of setting strategic vision, operational expertise, influential leadership;
- Strong understanding of the industry and its regulatory environment;
- Demonstrates superior command in both written and verbal communication;
- Strong knowledge and experience with Indigenous, Community and Government stakeholders; and
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism, sensitivity, and neutrality.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
