Position summary
TGS is looking for a new leader for our Global Tax team, currently consisting of seven highly qualified and experienced tax professionals. The Vice President Global Tax reports to the CFO and should preferably be based in one of our main offices in Oslo (Norway), Weybridge (UK) or Houston (US).
Purpose and Scope
- Lead the Global Tax team and manage practices in accordance with the TGS group tax policy to optimize risk and cost
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and proactively manage audits and disputes
- Provide tax advice to the TGS group to ensure tax cost and related risks are properly considered for company structures and transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Global Tax team
- Ensure all TGS tax matters are managed effectively and to a high standard
- Manage tax compliance and quarterly reporting
- Manage tax audits and enquiries from tax authorities
- Ensure all areas of the business receive timely and robust tax advice to support business activities
- Ensure TGS is compliant with local and international laws and regulations
- Manage tax risks
Required qualifications
- Legal or higher economic/accounting education at Master level
- 10 years’ experience of international tax planning and compliance, either from tax authorities, advisor firm or in the industry
- Strong tax, financial and legal capabilities
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex tax issues
- Good business understanding
- High ethical standard and professionalism
- Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge of Norwegian taxation
- High degree of self-motivation, initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Collaborative mindset and ability to manage external and internal relationships, and create a culture for collaboration
