Description:

Emerging Tech is seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development and Growth to lead our growth strategy across the Federal Government, targeting agencies such as VA, DOJ, DOD, and DHS. The Vice President of Business Development and Growth will be responsible for leading and orchestrating end-to-end pursuits by developing and executing account plans for each agency and for each corporate capability (Healthcare Modernization, IT Security, Enterprise Integration, and Digital Modernization). The ideal candidate will possess extensive relationships within these sectors and a proven track record of leveraging those relationships to drive revenue, as well as the ability to forge new strategic partnerships to further expand Emerging Tech’s presence. The ideal candidate will be able to pursue competitive contracts and task orders, as well as sole source opportunities, leveraging Emerging Tech’s socio-economic statuses (SDVOSB, 8(a), and HUBZone).
This role will work remotely but individual must reside in the DC metropolitan area to be able to travel to client sites, partner sites, and networking events within the DC area. Candidate may need to travel to other locations across the US at times.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement growth strategies tailored to each target federal agency, ensuring alignment with Emerging Tech’s corporate capabilities. Define and leverage the company’s value proposition to align the company to demonstrate company’s value for deals.
  • Account Management: Develop and execute actionable account plans and win strategies that clearly articulate what company needs to do to grow revenue; continuously refresh these plans and strategies.
  • Opportunity Identification: Pursue competitive contracts, task orders, and sole source opportunities, utilizing Emerging Tech’s socio-economic statuses (SDVOSB, 8(a), and HUBZone). Develop and cultivate pipeline of opportunities and pursue opportunities based on PWin and capture strategies.
  • Proposal Leadership: Lead and oversee the development of high-quality proposals, ensuring they are responsive to agency requirements and effectively highlight Emerging Tech’s strengths and differentiators. Direct Emerging Tech’s dedicated Proposal Team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment of offerings with agency needs and enhance bid proposals.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, contracting trends, agency priorities, and competitors to identify potential areas for growth and strategic advantages.
  • Networking: Represent Emerging Tech at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and forge strategic partnerships.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience leading growth efforts for a Small Business, preferably an 8(a) firm.
  • Ability to refine company’s value proposition and transformation angle.
  • Possess extensive relationships and a network across Federal government sectors, particularly in specified agencies. Must be able to leverage these existing relationships to generate new business and secure deals.
  • Proven experience in business development, capture management, and revenue generation in federal contracting, particularly within the specified agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge new relationships with clients and partners to secure additional work and expand existing engagements.
  • Ability to navigate complex procurement processes and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Strong relationships with key partners, system integrators, and subcontractors across Federal government.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to lead large growth initiatives and scale a growing company.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing a business development and proposal department.
  • Understanding of federal acquisition processes, government contracting vehicles, and proposal development.
  • Ability to travel heavily within the DC area and occasionally across the US.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience winning competitive task orders on VA T4NG and 8(a) STARS II or III.
  • Experience working for an 8(a) firm.

Base Salary: $200,000-$230,000 / year + Bonus/Commission
