Description:
EDUCATION
Masters degree in Public Policy, Social Science, Economics or another relevant field. PhD a bonus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of combined professional experience in conducting direct research (5-7 years) and leading research teams in applied and mixed method research, including quantitative and qualitative research, survey methodology, and analysis.
- Experience conducting and leading research in the areas of consumer finance, financial health, or financial inclusion. Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable insights.
- Experience in embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into both internal processes and external research, including conducting research on the needs of marginalized populations and experience with equitable research practices.
- Strong relationship building skills with a diversity of stakeholder types, leading to new business, partnerships, and grant opportunities.
- Experience leading teams, including setting strategic direction, mentoring researchers, and overseeing large-scale research initiatives.
- Advanced executive presentation skills; an ability to communicate verbally and in writing to influence and motivate multiple audiences. Experience with media is a plus.
- Comfortable leading change; making strategic decisions with imperfect or incomplete information; ability to pull up from immediate team responsibilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization.

Responsibilities:
SCOPE OF ROLE
The Vice President of Research & Insights is a senior leadership role that leads actionable insight generation across FHN, designs, develops, and helps disseminate applied research, cultivates relationships and leads business development, and manages the Research Team. The VP is a member of FHN’s Business Leadership Team (BLT) with peer business line leaders, playing an organizational leadership role, in addition to managing the Research Team. The role currently manages a team of seven researchers and reports to the Chief Program Officer.
