POSITION OVERVIEW

As part of the Advanced Technologies Executive Team, the Vice President – Ops Finance and Administration will play a central role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of the business unit, including the development of the multi-year strategic plan and the annual business plan. Reporting to the President of Advanced Technologies, this position is responsible for leading various functional groups within the Ops F&A division to deliver timely, accurate, and cost-effective services and information, ensuring cohesive operations across the business unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 10 years experience in an Operations or Finance and business development environment
Prior experience in areas of technology relevant to the business of the division is preferred.
Prior leadership responsibility
Ability to easily make the needed connections between systems, processes, and individuals to facilitate change
Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to drive transformational change and see through implementation, execution and stabilization
Ability to lead high performing teams to maximize individual and team outcomes
The ability to think strategically and assist in developing strategic solutions and approaches
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global and matrixed environment, build effective working relationships across Calian at Divisional, Group, and Corporate levels, and gain commitment and coordinated action for initiatives

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance at the Secret/NATO level

Responsibilities:

Drive Transformational Change: Champion initiatives that drive transformation across the business unit, breaking down silos and fostering collaboration to enhance operational effectiveness and support Calian’s growth trajectory.
Coordinate M&A Integration: Align with the business leaders and with the corporate mergers and acquisitions team to ensure mergers and acquisitions plans are planned and executed accordingly across the business unit, developing strategies that unify acquired companies into Calian and enhance overall synergy and performance.
Leadership and Collaboration: Act as a key partner to the President, working collaboratively with both the AT teams and other Calian teams to implement changes that drive operational excellence and enable continued expansion, both organically and through acquisitions.
Strategic Alignment and Execution: Align financial, operational, and administrative functions with the strategic goals of Advanced Technologies, driving efficiency, compliance, and effective risk management to support the overall success and growth of the business unit.
Cross-functional Coordination: Oversee and synchronize the financial, operational, and administrative strategies with Corporate Shared Services to ensure comprehensive support for quality assurance, trade compliance, and regulatory adherence.
