Reporting to, and takes direction from, the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President Personal Lines works collaboratively with the Chief Sales Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and other Vice Presidents to achieve results. You will maintain good working relationships with all levels of management, co-workers and clients, and you will be responsible for growing and managing our HUB Canada West personal lines performance and revenue through leading marketing placement and sales initiatives for all regions.
This role exists to achieve results by building relationships across departments, with clients and carrier markets. The incumbent demonstrates advanced Personal Lines knowledge within the industry including products, sales and operations.
This individual develops and maintains lasting relationships with various HUB International departments, key business partners, and clients.
A day in the life-
Lead the team and ensure the Personal Lines retail teams are supported in the delivery of product and customer experience.
Monitor and improve carrier relationships to ensure client growth, revenue and profitability, efficiency, client satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
Communicate regularly with employees, in meetings and individually. Apply good listening and problem solving skills for employee complaints and concerns.
Ensures relationships are developed throughout the Personal Lines operations and retail teams.
Work collaboratively with the Chief Sales Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer, and other Vice Presidents of Sales and Operations to identify initiatives and opportunities, identifying the appropriate stream to deliver the results.
Assist in setting up sales and retention goals and training in the branches.
Works collaborative with other Vice Presidents to promote strong culture of teamwork and operational support for the sales team. Collaboration and teamwork with the sales leaders is integral to the success of the region.
What you will bring to the team-
Skills & Abilities
Advanced insurance knowledge in personal lines processes and procedures
Professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required for this position, ability to communicate professionally with insurance companies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Strong, proven analytical problem solving with the ability to make decisions and move forward with the work at hand
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities required
Results-oriented, with the ability of using time and resources effectively;
Advanced practical knowledge and proficient computer skills with Broker Management Software System
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products is required
Superior relationship building with a client orientation and dedication to providing exemplary client service
Strong organization and time management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple, competing projects that are time sensitive
Committed to professional development
Ability to develop others
Some travel may be required
Experience & Education
Ideally, 10 years of progressive industry and people management experience is required
CAIB or similar designation required
Post-secondary studies in Business Administration desired; studies in Retail Management would be considered ideal
Previous experience managing across organizational boundaries is required
Salary Expectations –
The expected salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $140,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
