Vice President, Senior Corporate Counsel
Shake Shack is looking for a seasoned attorney to provide cross-functional commercial legal leadership and support including driving enterprise contract negotiations; providing dedicated counsel to the tech, digital marketing, and supply chain teams; leading privacy, and cybersecurity, commercial disputes; and advising on marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on enterprise-wide contracts, including SaaS, technology, supply chain, marketing, and other consumer-facing technology matters.
Ability to pragmatically identify, address, and advise data security, privacy and intellectual property issues in a commercial context.
Evaluate legal, financial and business risks associated with contracts in compliance with company policies, in order to protect company interests, including collaborating with insurance advisors and loss prevention teams.
Advise stakeholders on legal issues and risk assessments associated with the contracts.
Oversee (with the day to day execution by the Corporate Counsel) of the company’s brand protection efforts as part of the overall global strategy.
Strategic support for high impact marketing initiatives and supply chain management.
Supervise the Company’s Corporate Counsel in its brand marketing, IP portfolio management, and brand protection initiatives; restaurant level contracting; customer disputes; and insurance claims management.

Ability to provide counsel, say no when warranted in a respectful and authoritative manner, and suggest workable alternatives to meet the desired goals
Ability to identify, explain and balance business and legal risks
Organizing workflow and deadlines (including advising on priority and project management)
Detail-oriented, resourceful, adaptable, flexible, organized, discreet and cost-conscious problem solver who can remain calm and work under pressure
Experience
JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
10+ years of relevant legal, business and leadership experience including as a law firm attorney
Strong breadth of legal knowledge and in-depth subject matter expertise in the above referenced substantive areas
In-house experience preferred
People management experience preferred
Technology industry experience desired
IP portfolio management experience a plus
Supply chain experience a plus
Retail or Hospitality industry experience a plus
Privacy experience a plus
Experience with commercial insurance and risk management a plus
