Description:
State Street (STT) is looking for a seasoned media relations executive to join its Global Public Relations team as VP of EMEA Public Relations for State Street Global Advisors, the asset management arm of State Street, reporting to the global head of PR. Specializing in media relations, this candidate will be driven, and looking to take their career to the next level. They will have strong relationships with top-tier business, banking and financial trade publications and be an expert at proactively pitching complex stories, as well as having experience managing reputational issues. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, global environment, demonstrating a ‘client-service’ approach for our internal stakeholders, including SSGA’s senior leaders across EMEA. The VP will be outcome driven and be skillful at producing compelling reports and analysis that demonstrate campaign results or objectives have been achieved. This candidate will have strong writing/editing skills, well-versed in developing media-engaging social/digital content, be exceptionally well organized, ability to manage external agency and counselors and have high attention to detail.
This role will focus on developing and executing global PR strategy for State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management arm for State Street. He or she will work closely with the regional and global PR teams, business marketing functions, business unit leaders, SSGA and STT leadership and PR agencies daily to ensure media opportunities for key spokespeople are identified and leveraged, and that all necessary processes and policies are followed.

- Strong writing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience developing reports on media metrics and analytics
- Media relations and PR experience across corporate functions including Inclusion and Diversity, CSR and ESG
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and Fintech knowledge is preferred
Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues on the internal PR team, global marketing and external agencies to create, refine and deliver differentiated media driven activity in support of the firm’s corporate PR strategy and State Street’s individual business units’ objectives
- Develop media campaign strategies around the business’ latest thought leadership, including topics such as asset stewardship, retirement, emerging markets, quantitative investing and private credit. Develop or strengthen relationships with global, national and regional press contacts both within our day-to-day business.
- Build collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and partners to align PR strategy with business objectives
- Independently own programs/campaigns from concept through to execution
- Compose and edit content including press releases, bylines, talking points, media briefings social and digital media
- Support media interactions of business stakeholders at industry conferences
Essential Candidate Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in communications/public relations fields with a track record of successful developing relationships with reporters and securing coverage
- Ideal candidate will have significant experience in asset management and extensive relationships with relevant journalists covering the industry.
- In house or previous agency experience both considered
- Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines
- Strong command of traditional, digital, social and integrated marketing tactics
- A consummate team player with a can-do attitude
