Description:

With our Double Impact strategy, we aim to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that create a significant positive impact for our customers and society. At Hempel, sustainability leadership is a key enabler of our strategy and it means being frontrunners within the paint and coatings industry, addressing critical topics such as climate, biodiversity, resource depletion, and diversity.
At Hempel, we are committed to shaping a sustainable future.
Putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do means focusing not only on lowering emissions from our operations and reducing the resources we use but also on developing products and solutions that support our customers on their sustainability journeys and enable them to reach their goals. Hempel’s sustainability framework, Futureproof, has been instrumental in driving this work.
As we continue to develop on our journey, we are looking for our next Vice President of Sustainability.
You will be a key member of the Global Innovation & Technology Leadership Team and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
You will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders. Internally, you will work with executives and leaders in operations, R&D, marketing, commercial, and supply chain to align sustainability goals with overall business strategy and ensure execution plan is in place. Externally, you will engage with industry associations, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to stay abreast of sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices. You will also partner with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners to foster sustainability partnerships and drive collective action towards shared sustainability goals.
We are looking for a passionate and strategic leader to join us.
As our Vice President of Sustainability, you will play a critical role in driving Hempel’s sustainability agenda. You will be responsible for developing and executing Hempel’s sustainability strategy - Futureproof. This includes overseeing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives to ensure the company meets its sustainability goals and adheres to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create value for Hempel and our customers through our sustainability initiatives by identifying and pursuing opportunities for sustainable innovation and improvement.
  • Lead the transformation of our product assortment to lower environmental impact in our operations and at our customers.
  • Oversee ESG reporting and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability initiatives into business operations.
  • Monitor and report on sustainability performance metrics and progress.
  • Promote sustainability awareness and education within the organization.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including investors, customers, suppliers and communities, to communicate the company’s sustainability efforts.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
