Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

Itchen Sixth Form College is looking to appoint a new Vice Principal, Director of Finance from January 2025. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to work with our Governors, Principal and Senior Team to move the College forward through achievement of our strategic aims, specifically leading on matters relating to Finance, Audit, Estates and Resources to maximise efficiency and value for money and assist in ensuring delivery of outstanding outcomes in all areas of provision.
Itchen is proud of how it has developed as a sixth form college, widening provision to properly serve its community and take a full part in civic activity. Building on this, the College is seeking to appoint a Vice Principal who will assist the Principal and Governing Body in driving forward change in a way that fully recognises the underpinning inclusive and supportive nature of the College for both students and staff. We want a pro-active member of the senior leadership team, willing to take a full part in daily College life.
The College has grown over the last 5 years, investing in new facilities and developing the site. This has been achieved through prudent financial management and creative estates planning. With the retirement of the current Vice Principal, an opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team.
This post will be of interest to senior and middle leaders from education or from the wider community. While we need a suitably qualified candidate, just as important is a commitment to ensuring all students achieve to the best of their abilities, widening participation and assisting social mobility. The role brings with it the opportunity to make a direct difference to the lives of young people and adults in Southampton and the south Hampshire area.
Potential candidates may wish to have an informal discussion with the Principal, Mr Alex Scott and/or arrange a visit to the College. Please contact the PA to the Principal, Angela Merrin
amerrin@itchen.ac.uk
to arrange.
