Welcome to BallyCara Retirement Village, fondly known as the Village of Friends! Our unique retirement community, beautifully situated by the waters of Moreton Bay in Scarborough, offers an enriching lifestyle for our residents.
The Village Team is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and vibrant environment, complete with top-notch facilities like a Wellness Centre featuring a gym, pool, coffee shop, and an Allied Health Clinic. Residents also enjoy the Village Centre, which includes a Bistro, games and social areas, a library, and private meeting rooms.
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Village General Manager to lead our community and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. This key leadership role involves planning, developing, and managing all operations, sales, programs, emergency responses, and events within the village.
Our relationships are vital to running a vibrant community that enhances the residents’ physical, emotional and social well-being and contributing to the SONA ethos that we pride ourselves on.
Reporting directly to the Service Quality Director, you will be accountable for delivering excellence in customer service, ensuring a responsive, timely, and empowering environment that helps our residents thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess exceptional people skills and a strong ability to build and maintain relationships, which are vital in creating a positive and supportive community atmosphere.
- Provide effective leadership and management to the Village Team through efficient procedures, systems and processes, in line with BallyCara’s strategic plan, Code of Conduct and the SONA® ethos.
- Oversee operational management, including events, lifestyle experiences, catering, emergency response and sales.
- Liaison with Facilities regarding maintenance and communicate with residents during maintenance periods.
- Provide regular updates and management reports
- Manage budget, resource planning and strategy for the Village.
- Support the sales process to ensure agreed sales and occupancy targets are managed, optimised and achieved.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop referral relationships.
- Ensure legal requirements for health and safety are met.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Our Ideal Candidate
- Experience in Village or Retirement Living Management.
- Degree in Business, Management, or Health Services
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and their families.
- Familiar with Aged Care Service provision / knowledge of Retirement Villages Legislation.
- Demonstrates a passion for providing the best possible experience for residents underpinned by strong knowledge of commercial and operational management, health and safety, and aged care regulations.
- Proven leadership skills, capable of inspiring and guiding a team to achieve customer service excellence.
- Strong commercial acumen and budget management experience.
Position Requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain.
- COVID-19 vaccination x 2.
