Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

This role is responsible for providing hands- on technical support primarily in the Vinyl department; supports other departments as needed. Leads activities to continuously improve methods and procedures used in vinyl siding, skirting, and accessory manufacturing.
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
DIRECT SUPERVISION: May fill in for Manufacturing Supervisors on an interim basis.
May provide management oversight as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 5 to 10 years of significant extrusion experience in a fast paced 24/7 post form operation.
  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience using recycled materials in extrusion process.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply this knowledge to troubleshoot processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and quality issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and drive projects to completion.
  • A success track record of process improvements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook with the ability to build and manipulate data in spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of AS400 and a MRP is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills with the ability to train others on technical processes.
  • Must have a “hands-on” working style with a high involvement with equipment, process and people.
  • Willing to be flexible with work hours to support our continuous operation.
