Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

American International University (AIU) is seeking dynamic and engaged Visiting Faculty members for Spring 2025 to join its School of Engineering and Computing. We invite candidates for Visiting Faculty appointments with expertise in Industrial Engineering.
The visiting faculty role lasts for one or two semesters and begins on January 6, 2025. It provides an excellent opportunity for academic professionals to gain international teaching experience, engage with a diverse student body and offers the chance to contribute to curriculum development within a set timeframe.
We are especially interested in applicants who will contribute to the diversification of our curriculum and faculty in terms of race, gender, and ethnicity.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.

The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who leverages professional trends and technologies to deliver relevant classroom experiences. The successful candidate will be a leader and current, active member of the Industrial Engineering field. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in:

  • Systems Simulation
  • Digital Manufacturing and Design
  • Systems Engineering in Design
  • Cyber-Physical Industrial Application
  • Product Engineering
  • Operations Research
  • Work Design
  • Senior design projects.

The candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. The candidate will also be expected to develop research programs, supervise undergraduate students, and make contributions to both school and university service. Evidence of a strong commitment to both teaching and research is required.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level related to their specific expertise within the professional Industrial Engineering curriculum. Also, we expect to play an active role in the leadership in undergraduate programs, curriculum development, mentoring, and start-ups.
