Position Summary
Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Research Associate I -Social Science to join the Department of Surgery.
The Research Associate I -Social Sciences, conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in research activities and participate in a variety of collaborative projects
  • Apply research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project
  • With a moderate level of direction, will manage research- related duties and tasks
  • Support data collection efforts, conduct literature reviews, and help write reports
  • Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, and perform other related work as needed
  • Conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results
  • Maintains and processes required paperwork
  • Coordinate research activities including scheduling, tracking, and completing study activities - collection of qualitative/quantitative data & data analysis - in preparation and during the study period.
  • Works closely with the Director of Clinical Research to ensure correct implementation and compliance with study protocols
  • Assist in developing training materials for new staff
  • Assist in developing and compiling summary data, progress reports, IRB submissions, and support for presentations
  • Communicate in an effective and professional manner with all members of the research team, study participants and learners
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Research with administrative tasks
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Entry level knowledge of research methods.
