We are hiring for a Visual Communications Specialist who enjoys helping people, is well organized, and wants to join a team dedicated to building better government services.
This is a Remote Work position. U.S. Citizenship is required, and Employees must live in the United States, no exceptions.
This position requires candidates to pass a public trust background investigation.

JOB SUMMARY

This Visual Communications Specialist position will support our team with Written and Visual Communication Services for the Information Technology Division (ITD). Written communication services shall include the development and implementation of outreach/communication activities; the developing and compiling of results/feedback from surveys, focus groups, and other engagements; creating, editing, tracking, publishing, and standardizing organizational documents to include policies, procedures, and other authoritative documents such as memorandums; and maintaining documents in print and electronic media. Also, developing and maintaining multimedia communication platforms ensuring information and visual designs are in compliance with Web Standards and Style Guide in addition to adhering to Section 508.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a multimedia or broadcast journalist, or in marketing communications, graphic design, or a related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, graphic design, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Preferred: Government or Federal Agency experience.
  • Copywriting and Editing: Proven experience in copywriting and editing, with excellent written communication skills.
  • Visual Content Creation: Experience creating visual content for various platforms, including social media, websites, internal communications, and marketing materials.
  • Web Design and Content Production (a plus): Familiarity with web design principles and content production.
  • Project Management: Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office, photo and video-editing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite), and other relevant tools.
  • Work well in a team environment and able to work independently.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyze, and create custom design visual materials relating to program issues, field narratives, and correspondence. Tasks are received in a format based on established and agreed-upon objectives, themes, and content for use on multiple platforms.
  • Build and edit visual materials for slide presentations for ITD as requested within the timeline identified when tasked.
  • Maintain all visual assets in a graphic material library that includes all items produced under this contract and externally provided to the contractor by the government. The library is maintained in SharePoint.
  • Remediate and maintain content on the interagency SharePoint Sites, sub-sites, lists, libraries, and content (including pages, workflows, and items). Develop and build intranet pages on emerging technologies as requested within the timeline identified when tasked.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
