WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a creative professional who combines technical design expertise with a passion for crafting compelling visuals that simplify complex insurance concepts, helping us empower Canadians to make informed decisions about their health and wellness.

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business, Graphic Design, or a related field3–5 years of experience in graphic design, visual communications or related experience, preferably within a corporate or in house environment.
  • Strong proficiency in design tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma).
  • Strong design sensibility with expertise in typography, colour theory and layout.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify and visually communicate complex concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and audience engagement.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (eg: Asana) and communications platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Poppulo).
  • Ability to produce both print and digital materials and knowledge of print production processes and digital media best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience crafting strategic communication plans and materials for diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and communication strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet challenging goals.
  • Knowledge of communication metrics and data-driven improvement strategies.
  • Familiarity with AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliance standards and integrating accessibility into design practices.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in graphic design, branding, and multimedia production.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of Insurance Communication, the Visual Communication Specialist will be a vital member of the Insurance Communications team. This role focuses on translating complex insurance concepts into clear, compelling visuals and concise content to enhance understanding and engagement. The Visual Communication Specialist will ensure brand consistency across all materials, driving engagement and fostering effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. This role will collaborate closely with The GreenShield Insurance Sales, Implementation, and Product teams to develop targeted visual communications strategies for advisor, member, employer, provider and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate excels at blending creativity with strategic objectives to craft visuals that drive business results and enhance audience engagement.

  • Develop graphics, layouts, and multimedia content (newsletters emails, sales materials, presentations, sell sheets, brochures, product guides, promotional material, videos, logos) for both digital and print platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align visual and written content with organizational objectives, particularly for campaigns, product launches, and stakeholder updates.
  • Write clear, concise, and impactful content for client communications, marketing materials, and internal updates.
  • Oversee communication timelines, coordinate cross-departmental efforts, and analyze engagement metrics to enhance communication effectiveness.
  • Support internal processes by maintaining tools, templates, and resources for efficient content development and distribution.
  • Monitor and refining communication strategies to ensure alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Maintain and update the communication calendar to track project timelines and deliverables
