Description:
ABOUT US
We are seeking a full-time Visual Inspection and Packaging Operator to join our Operations team in Swindon, supporting the Pharma Services group at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality service to our clients. Your role will involve setting up, cleaning, and operating production lines for labelling and packaging, following SOPs and BMRs, and conducting visual inspections of the products.
Our Swindon facility specialises in coordinated sterile liquid and lyophilized product development and commercial manufacturing, including high potency products and LVP. It also offers extensive development and commercial capabilities for sterile dosage forms, including liquid vials, commercial fill finish lines, and primary and secondary packaging vials.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
- GCSE-level Maths and English (or equivalent).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of handling materials up to 5 kg, with reasonable adjustments if required.
Responsibilities:
- Complete Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), review work in real-time, and support their closure.
- Clean equipment and work areas according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory standards, ensuring they are always ready for audits.
- Monitor equipment for visual inspection and packaging and report any issues to your supervisor.
- Ensure all work and documentation follow industry standards, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Stay up to date with required training and help train others as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, using tools like 5S and lean techniques.
- Participate in and suggest ideas for continuous improvement.
- Support the resolution of quality issues and other corrective actions when required.
- Perform manual and semi-automated inspections of products, ensuring you are trained and aligned with quality standards.
- Assist in the introduction of new products and support validation work in the Operations department.
- Set up equipment to minimise downtime, product waste, and ensure smooth production processes.
- Operate airlocks and cleaning systems to prepare equipment for use.
- Help with basic equipment maintenance as needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, and promptly report any incidents or hazards.
