SUMMARY:

Variety is seeking a Volt Hockey coach who has experience coaching hockey to translate those coaching skills to Volt
Hockey and who can foster athlete development in an environment that is fun, safe, encouraging, and inclusive.

Key Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Level 1 Certified Coach with the National Coaching Certification Program an asset.
  • Experience coaching hockey.
  • Experience coaching children and youth

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a training environment that is inclusive and supportive.
  • Coaching children and youth in the game of Volt Hockey while developing the knowledge of the game,

confidence, game strategies and skills.

  • Preparing and supporting athletes for competitions locally, provincially with a possibility of national or

international tournaments.

  • Actively recruiting new athletes to the team.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with the athletes, parents and volunteers involved

in the program.

  • Participating in company training that includes Health & Safety, AODA, and Plan to Protect.
  • Participating in Variety’s Orientation program and adhere to established organizational policies and protocols.
  • Handling other duties as assigned.
