Description:

SUMMARY

The Refugee Resettlement Department at Catholic Charities Community Services provides assistance to newly arrived families from diverse backgrounds who are resettling in New York City and the Lower Hudson Valley through case management, employment-based, and educational services. The Volunteer and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for managing the volunteer and intern program in the Refugee Resettlement department, including recruitment, onboarding and training, and ongoing supervision. The Volunteer and Partnerships Coordinator will also create and maintain relationships with partner organizations to support the complex and shifting needs of clients enrolled in RR programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in human services, non-profit management, social work or a related field of study is required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in supervision and/or partnership building.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving and leadership skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication (oral & written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and fostering a collaborative and interactive environment.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and high-volume communication in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent in English and at least one other language commonly spoken by client population (Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Ukrainian, etc.) strongly preferred.
    Salary Range: Hourly non-exempt rate is between $30.21 to $35.71 or $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 yearly.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

Volunteer and Intern Management

  • Manage volunteer and intern program, including recruitment, onboarding, training, strengths-based supervision, and offboarding process.
  • Respond to inquiries and act as the contact for current, prospective, and new volunteers/interns.
  • Conduct outreach and promote volunteer opportunities offered by attending volunteer fairs, community meetings, and by interacting with the general public.
  • Collaborate with VISTA member(s) to continuously assess departmental needs and conduct volunteer/intern outreach to meet identified needs.
  • Collaborate with RR Department staff to develop and implement volunteer projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain tracking tools, including volunteer/intern schedule, recruitment spreadsheet, volunteer/intern ongoing projects and other tools.
  • Create and maintain volunteer/intern training materials in collaboration with VISTA member(s) and supervisors.
  • Develop and implement volunteer appreciation events and communications.

Partnership Coordination

  • Maintain existing partnerships with community organizations to continue to receive donations for RR client population; conduct outreach and create new partnerships based on client needs.
  • Manage and track client donations within allowable parameters and program guidelines within each case, program, and designation.
  • Oversee the intake, sorting, and storage of donated goods, ensuring proper organization, inventory tracking, and adherence to donation guidelines.
  • Coordinate donations, including managing pickups with clients, organizing data, and maintaining clear communication with our distribution partners.
  • Work collaboratively with the RR Department staff to understand client populations and programs, and to conceptualize and implement projects.
  • Occasionally attend local, state, and national meetings or conferences.

Administrative/Other

  • Take the lead on proposal writing and reporting for volunteer-specific funding initiatives.
  • Write and submit reports as required; compile and report statistics as needed.
  • Use SharePoint, ECM/Salesforce, and other databases to track data and metrics in accordance with current contract and internal reporting requirements.
  • Participate in program meetings, staff development activities, and other meetings as necessary to discuss project progress, including accomplishments, community planning, and challenges.

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area using reliable transportation, traversing streets, ascending/descending stairs, and exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Remain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer approximately 60% of the time, with 40% of time spent in the field.
  • *COVID-19 Adjustment: Position will be onboarded virtually. Potential to orient to the physical office space in person depending on CDC and agency requirements at the time of onboarding. Updates to protocol are implemented on a regular basi
