QUALIFICATIONS

  • The Coffee House Volunteer must be hard-working, personable, flexible and able to work cooperatively with fellow Coffee House Team Members. They must be able to offer a consistent commitment to Coffee House for 1 year (2-4 hours every 2 weeks)
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the Identity and Mission of L’Arche is an asset.
  • Food Handler Training Certificate is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Assuring safety for all in the kitchen
  • Preparing and displaying food
  • Making coffee, tea, hot chocolate
  • Assembling serving ware
  • Assisting/supporting Core Members to perform kitchen tasks
  • Welcoming and serving guests
  • Setting up and clearing display case and coffee table, tables and chairs
  • Washing dishes
  • Custodial duties: emptying garbage, sweeping kitchen floor, cleaning washrooms at the end of the evening
  • Working with the team (Coffee House Staff, Music Facilitator, Program Coordinator, Volunteers) to support each other in completing all tasks necessary before leaving for the evening.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
