Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
• The minimum level of education required is a Community College Diploma preferably in Social Services, Counselling, Psychology, or related fields. • Minimum of one year of experience in Housing and/or Social/Legal services within community services or non-profit sector. • Ability to speak Ukrainian fluently • Ability to communicate professionally in person, on the phone and virtually • Above average proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams & Zoom) • Ability to stay organized and prioritize work in a high volume, deadline-oriented environment • Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds • Be committed to a culture of inclusion • Ability to complete a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Police Chec
Responsibilities:
• Acting as main point of contact for Ukranian volunteer, donation and Homestay enquires. Providing information and referral services to community resources, as needed • Recruiting, selecting, training, and monitoring of host families • Completing profiles for host families, ensuring hosting requirements are met and appropriate screening is completed (i.e./ police background check, etc.) • Preparing and delivering newcomer and host orientations • Updating and ensuring information is accurate in applicable databases • Promoting Homestay opportunities within the community • Escalating issues or concerns to the Program Manager, as needed • Conducting regular follow-up and site visits to all homestay locations and host individuals/ families • Manage and grow host family database
Other Duties (20%): • Maintains and submits accurate tracking documents and monthly reporting updates to the Manager • Maintains appropriate records and files pertaining to homestays, hosts and clients provided • Ensures appropriate and confidential handling of all client information and files • Actively participates in all mandated training, staff meetings and workshops • Operates in accordance with the policies, guidelines, and protocols of the agency and program • Accepts other duties as assigned
