Description:

Position: Volunteer - Employment Services
Job Classification: Volunteer
Location: 3225 Eglinton Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1J 2H7
Terms: In-person, three month commitment
Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or certification in Counseling, Social Work, Career Development, Community Services, or other related field, or relevant experience in employment services
  • Punctual and responsible
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in office software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Sensitivity to the needs and issues faced by job seekers, particularly newcomers to Canada
  • Reliable and punctual

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Employment Counsellor in preparing and organizing materials for counselling sessions and workshops
  • Help with the coordination and scheduling of client appointments and workshops
  • Support the Employment Counsellor in researching and gathering information on job market trends and employment resources
  • Aid in the development and maintenance of client databases and tracking systems
  • Contribute to the creation of informational materials and resources for clients
  • Help with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document management
  • Provide logistical support for client-related activities and events
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of all client information
