As a leadership volunteer, you will be part of our committees of volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.

In this role, you will be supporting the efforts of the Canadian Cancer Society to raise critical funds to change the future for those living with cancer and beyond. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for our Volunteer Engagement Lead to support our newest event, “Trivia Night.” Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is more than just a task or experience – it has a real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society is actively recruiting a Volunteer Engagement Lead to join our team.
Brief Overview: Working in partnership with the CCS Staff Partner and the Committee, the Volunteer Engagement Lead is responsible for recruiting, scheduling, managing and stewarding event day volunteers.

Your commitment

As the Volunteer Engagement Lead you can expect to work on the following:

  • Manage recruitment of event-day volunteers, volunteer orientation, scheduling, training, and recognition.
  • Identify event-day volunteer needs, create positions and address vacancies.
  • Organize volunteer scheduling, expectations, and training.
  • Manage all event-day volunteer communications.
  • Manage volunteer event-day check-in and out. Act as point of contact for all event-day volunteers.
  • Create and foster a positive and impactful volunteer experience both leading up to, and on event day.
  • Organize volunteer recognition and post-event stewardship.
  • Be on site for event day set up and tear down.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Canadian Cancer Society.
