Description:
Volunteer Position: Volunteer - Homework Club Tutor
Job Classification: Volunteer
Location: Virtual
Terms: 1 hour per week; minimum commitment of 3 months
Mondays 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Languages: Mandarin
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to explain the material to the participants
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues facing young children
- Punctual and responsible
- Proficiency using Zoom
- Ability to communicate in both Mandarin and English

- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support to Homework Club participants
- Use different techniques to help participants understand and complete their homework
- Arrange reinforcing materials that help participants strengthen their skills in Math, English, Science, French, and other subjects as needed
- Be aware of cultural differences and ensure that the rights of all participants are respected
- Perform other related duties as assigned
