QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the training or education sector.
• Strong understanding of HR reporting, risk management, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Professional qualifications in HR, management, or a related field.
• 10 Years of HR Experience Required.
• Previous senior leadership – preferred.
• Previous governor experience – preferred but not essential.
• A degree of competence relevant to the Education sector.
• Recent and relevant HR experience.
• Competent in HR literacy.
• Experience in corporate HR matters.
• CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management

Ginger Nut Training is seeking a highly experienced HR industry expert and dedicated individual to join our team of Advisory Governors. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing top-notch training services while ensuring the highest governance and risk management standards.
We are looking to add an HR-experienced Advisory Governor to our team here at Ginger Nut Training. The ideal candidate will challenge existing processes and ensure the provider is robust in its HR practices to continue supporting the drive for improvement in how we deliver our apprenticeships for our learners.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Governors are volunteers who receive no pay in respect to their service. It is estimated that the time commitment for a governor is approximately two hours a month.
We will require you to attend six meetings per year online – charitable donations will be made on your behalf for your preferred charity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and advise on the company’s HR and risk management processes.
• Advise on the integrity of HR reporting and the effectiveness of the internal controls.
• Advise the Board on the company’s overall risk appetite, tolerance, and strategy.
• Provide information, advice, and guidance.
• Provide challenge to the Board’s decision-making to support the improvement of Apprenticeship provision.
