About the role– Permanent Full-Time
Are you passionate about making a difference and fostering impactful connections within and beyond the organisation? Here’s a unique opportunity to join our team as the energetic Volunteer & Student Placement Coordinator, contributing to fulfilling Baptist Care SA’s mission and vision.
You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of Volunteer and Student Placement requirements for the organisation.
Based primarily at Wayville, the role involves travelling to various Baptist Care SA locations to support our many volunteers serving in various capacities. This includes, among others, Baptist Care SA’s WestCare Centre which provides community members who are experiencing homelessness, loneliness and social isolation with a safe space.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain volunteers, including communication plans, event calendars, and recognition events
  • Maintain strong partnerships with volunteer program partners and corporate partners to enhance the volunteering program
  • Manage volunteer administration and reporting, ensuring compliance and accuracy of data
  • Coordinate the Contractional compliance, administration and reporting for Student Placements across the organisation
  • Liaise with identified universities and partner organisations to coordinate Student Placement opportunities

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone with a deep appreciation for the value and significance of volunteering. This individual should excel in developing innovative strategies to attract volunteers, possess a solid background in system administration and report writing. High-level interpersonal abilities are crucial, and you thrive in cultivating positive relationships with our valued volunteers, students, and other key stakeholders. Attention to detail and effective teamwork are also essential attributes we seek.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a volunteer program management or high volume recruitment role
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Community Development or equivalent
  • Qualified to facilitate Safe Environments for Children and Young People training
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Full unrestricted South Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
