We are hiring Lead & Deputy Canvass Directors to manage our offices in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Directors will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to register voters in critical areas throughout the state. Directors will work within their team to build an office to scale from the ground up. All Directors are expected to train staff in the field while leading by example and canvassing themselves; they must also communicate long and short term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting.
Winning the 2024 election in Wisconsin is crucial for Democrats as the state holds significant electoral votes that could decide the outcome of the Presidential race. Wisconsin’s diverse population, including urban centers like Milwaukee and suburban areas, represents a microcosm of the nation’s political landscape. Moreover, Wisconsin plays an outsized role in shaping national policy agendas, particularly in areas such as manufacturing, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship. A Democratic win in Wisconsin in 2024 would not only bolster the party’s electoral prospects but also provide an opportunity to enact progressive reforms that benefit the state and the nation as a whole.
We are hiring immediately. This position can run through September 6th, with opportunities to extend up to the election.
Locations: Milwaukee . Strong preference for in-state candidates, short-term travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have

  • Leadership experience, ability to motivate a large team
  • Leadership experience, ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team.
  • Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week.
  • Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement.
  • Track record of equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
  • Experience registering voters
  • Familiarity with VAN
  • Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
  • Facilitation experience
  • Local knowledge/experience

Salary: The salary range for this position is $1,146 - $1,412 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement and bonuses.

Responsibilities:
