Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP, Business and Planning, TDGF Executive Office has primary responsibility in supporting the CEO TDGF in achieving business objectives. This includes providing day-to-day leadership on key initiatives, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, conducting research and preparing briefings, coordinating communications activities, managing and tracking progress against key objectives, and maintaining a current understanding of TDBG strategies and direction.
The role will also provide support to the CEO TDGF on matters relating to both TDGF Board and Ireland Management Committee Corporate Governance, as well as other tasks assigned to the executive office by the CEO, which will include coordinating the efforts of support and control functions, head office and others in order to deliver projects or initiatives according to plan.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to support the strategic execution of enterprise priorities which span multiple business functions and geographies.
  • Excellent judgment, relationship management, and impact and influence capability, with a demonstrated ability to get along with people across TDBG and external parties at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Organizational awareness, resourcefulness and demonstrated relationship building skills - understanding of whom to engage in order to identify solutions and resolve issues. Good understanding of what issues to escalate, and what to resolve on your own.
  • Strong business acumen, financial acumen and analytical skill set – ability to absorb information on a variety of complex issues (financial and non-financial) and summarize key issues or concerns and identify common themes and trends; demonstrated strategic thinking abilities.
  • Solid understanding of TD’s business and the Irish and European regulatory environment
  • Ability to deal with significant ambiguity and constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of personal integrity in order to recognize and manage access to sensitive information about the Bank, our strategy, results, people and issues being addressed.
  • Superior communication skills – professional, transparent and concise communicator (verbal and written).
  • Strong project mindset, ability to present materials and understand the right balance of data to include.

Responsibilities:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertake and oversee a variety of projects and initiatives - often of a sensitive nature, and usually with minimal guidance or direction, ensuring discretion and ability to see items through to resolution/completion.
  • Act as the Business Project Owner in leading cross enterprise initiatives under the executive sponsorship of the TDGF CEO.
  • Support development and tracking of milestones and other performance management tools and processes - provide summary reports on progress for executive review and consideration
  • Develop agenda and lead the co-ordination of papers and agenda items for Ireland Management Committee (IMC), town halls and offsites as appropriate; this role is secretariat for the IMC and facilitates all IMC meetings.
  • Anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise and advise the CEO accordingly
  • Coordinate the consolidation and delivery of all key weekly/monthly/quarterly executive updates
  • Provide the CEO with an overview of management information, discussions and/or business issues in advance of key business meetings and events, including TDGF Board meetings. Co-ordinate follow-up on outstanding issues as required. Generate metrics to measure impact and holding teams accountable for success.
  • Identify issues and risks requiring research or analysis, determine solutions/mitigations directly or in consultation with relevant functional / business leaders, other internal / external groups as necessary, and provide meaningful information in response to issues / questions raised
  • Oversee effective communications, liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely and relevant communications on key business issues, evaluating speaking opportunities, and drafting summaries, speaking notes and presentations
  • Play integral role in coordinating activities across product areas and leading multi-product initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business heads and partners and their direct reports across TDBG
  • Organize and participate in the CEO’s planning initiatives, and broader, by providing cross-business analysis, strategic perspective and following up on key deliverables
