Description/Responsibilities:
As the VP, Cloud Product Engineering at Tivity Health, you will be responsible for leading our engineering organization in developing cutting-edge solutions that empower our members to live longer, healthier lives. In this role, you will align engineering strategy with our mission, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, support, and customer-centric design at pace and scale.
Through your technical expertise and strong leadership skills you will be delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality cloud-based products. You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and operations, to define and execute the product engineering strategy.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the product engineering strategy to align with the Tivity’s vision, business goals, and product roadmap
• Partner and create trusted relationships with the CTO, Product Management, and other executive leaders to define product vision, priorities, and timelines
• Drive technology innovation and ensure engineering practices to maintain a competitive edge within the market as well as align to regulatory and compliance requirements

Team Leadership & Development

• Build, lead, and mentor a diverse, high-performing engineering team, fostering a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive culture
• Implement development frameworks and training programs to upskill talent where needed and align team capabilities with evolving industry trends
• Promote a “fail fast, learn faster” mindset while maintaining a focus on quality and reliability
• Guide the engineering culture and team to adapt to a product-driven organization and operating model

Product Development & Delivery

• Oversee the software development lifecycle of products and platforms, ensuring timely delivery, scalability, and alignment with customer needs
• Collaborate closely with Product Management to translate business and user requirements into technical specifications
• Ensure product engineering teams deliver high-quality code, using modern development frameworks and agile methodologies
• Identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within Product Engineering, developing strategies to mitigate, including addressing tech debt, scalability, security threats, and other risk factors
• Develop and enforce QA standards, leveraging automation tools and frameworks to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient testing processes

Technology & Architecture

• Set the direction for architecture, tooling, and platform decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
• Spearhead research, development, and evaluate emerging technologies
• Optimize cloud-based solutions with a focus on managing costs, improving performance, and ensuring high-availability while leveraging monitoring tools, right-sizing strategies, and automation to optimize resource utilization

Operational Excellence

• Ensure fiscal responsibility through monitoring and managing budgets, resource allocations, and timelines to meet business objectives and the product roadmaps
• Establish and monitor KPIs to assess team performance, product quality, and delivery timelines
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Develop and oversee relationships with technology vendors, ensuring delivery of quality services, adherence to SLAs to ensure we are driving towards mutual success and maximizing value for the organization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
• 15+ years in leading and managing software engineering teams, (5+ years in a cloud environment)
• Proven experience in scaling engineering teams and delivering complex, high-quality software products in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams with a collaborative and growth-oriented approach

• Strong understanding of software engineering, architecture, DevSecOps, and cloud technologies (AWS):

• • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, TypeScript, .Net, Python
• Knowledge and experience in REACT framework, preferred Next.js knowledge
• Demonstrated success in driving agile development processes and delivering products iteratively in a product-driven organization
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to align technical strategy with business goals and anticipate future needs
  The salary range for this opportunity is $140,800 to $197,000 per year. Compensation depends on several factors: qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
