QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
• Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent) in Business /Project Management or similar discipline
• Fluent in English
• 15+ years work experience in project management environment within a reputable organization, with project manager experience within a customer facing role. Experience in managing project portfolios, programmes and Project Steering Groups for the equivalent of SVPs, Chiefs & CEO.
• Extensive end-to-end project management experience in delivery of large complex cross functional projects across a variety of fields and disciplines. Key Project management role in delivery of at least 3 projects in excess of US $50 M.
• Experienced in programme and project portfolio design, development and deployment. Experience in designing, developing and deploying project methods & standards at a project management office level.
• Extensive experience of managing internal and external stakeholders, including developing relationships and managing expectations at a senior executive level with particular emphasis on being able to negotiate and influence senior management. Excellent planning, communication, verbal, written, presentation skills and report writing skills are essential.
• MS Project
• Certified Project Professional (PMP, Prince2 practitioner, CAPM) for 3 or more years preferable

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

To lead the introduction, development, planning, and maintenance of project management standards and drive innovation initiatives to enhance project delivery, optimize processes, and foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement in alignment with flydubai corporate strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads the design and development of integrated programme plans for corporate wide projects, ensuring all flydubai stakeholders are in alignment with programme plans and are aware of progress of the plan.
• Manages and facilitates flydubai stakeholders to ensure that all operational requirements and project scope is identified and prioritized in corporate wide programs.
• Ensures timely management of programme decisions, issues and risks and be accountable for ensuring that issues not resolved by working groups are escalated to the Steering Groups.
• Develops and implements the strategic vision for the Innovation Lab that oversees ideation, development and execution of innovation projects that drive growth and transformation.
• Monitors industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics in collaboration with flydubai departments to identify opportunities that can deliver measurable outcomes that enhance flydubai’s competitive edge.
• Identifies and analyzes existing project management processes; recommends and implements innovative practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Advises on best practice to prioritize, structure and initializing strategic projects and consult on the formulation of business cases to support initiatives and facilitate the Steering Groups to accelerate project delivery.
• Leads the design and deployment of standards and processes for managing project benefits, including planning, tracking and realization and the correct closure of projects including post project reviews.
• Identifies, creates and develops a comprehensive project portfolio tool that integrates project and programs enabling the initiation, planning, executing and closure of all flydubai projects.
• Utilizes project management knowledge and experience to identify and recommend effective project best practices to continually improve the delivery of flydubai’s portfolio of projects.
• Designs, develops and deploys a corporate-wide centre of excellence for project management best practice, including the ongoing management of the centre.
• Consults and advises on the success of programmes and give guidance on corrective actions required to gain maximum benefit from deployed projects.
• Defines and continuously refines KPIs that ensure non-standard operational work are aligned to the business strategy and business commercial activities. Identify work practices and techniques to improve adverse trends in KPIs.
• Establishes the project governance framework and processes for large corporate wide projects such as, Maintenance, Repair and Overahul (MRO), DWC airport, Fleet Planning Committee and the operational readiness and seamless integration of 787 fleet into flydubai’s operation whilst aligning individual business unit project portfolios.
• Manages and influences internal and external stakeholders, such as regulators and project management professionals to ensure participation and compliance where required.
