Description:
We are searching for a CFO to join our team located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This role is instrumental in the healthcare industry, specifically in the hospitals and social assistance sectors. As the CFO, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial activities of our organization. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of financial planning, budget management, and forecasting.
- Implement strategic financial planning and guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Manage financial software and systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and meet the needs of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure financial systems are secure and efficient.
- Oversee the management of organizational spending, financial planning, debt, and budgeting.
- Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Work closely with the Accounting and Finance Manager to ensure strategic budgeting alignment and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with management on the development and execution of funding strategies.
- Proficient in handling various accounting functions and tasks including Accounts Payable (AP)
- Proven ability to develop, manage and oversee an annual budget
- Strong knowledge and understanding of auditing processes and procedures
- Demonstrated experience in managing and optimizing budget processes
- Must have a strong understanding and experience in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry
- Leadership skills to guide and manage a finance department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with other departments and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- High ethical standards and professionalism, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Must have a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CPA are preferred.
