Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The VP & Finance Manager works under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and provides support which will include creating and tracking department financials through variance analysis, contribute to monthly forecasts and annual budgeting process, evaluate company operational performance indicators, identify areas of issues or concerns, and make recommendations to management.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Strong background in finance and/or accounting
- Strong PC skills, ability to work with Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Success in multitasking in a fast-paced environment and in task ownership
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance
- Required minimum 5 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance
- Preferred minimum 5 years of commercial bank work experience in Accounting or Finance
Responsibilities:
- Work with and assist the Director of Finance with the following tasks:
- Support development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts for the bank’s budget and forecast processes and financial models
- Utilize and incorporate financial technology products and systems into the annual budget process and the rolling forecast process
- Monitor and track the balance sheet, revenues, operating costs, capital expenditures against budget and provide meaningful insights to senior management with variance analyses
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and ad hoc analysis for executive management & Board of Directors and other stakeholders (Federal Reserve, FDIC, Investors, etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather data and develop actionable insights to drive decision-making.
- Perform related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.
- Assist with Asset & Liability Management and ALCO reporting.
- Assist the Controller with accounting related items as directed by CFO
- Assist CFO with Investor Relations tasks as necessary.
- Assist CFO with Corporate Secretary duties as needed.
- Provide financial reports and information to the CEO, CFO, and other Executives if requested.
- Comply fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, etc.). Must complete all required training
