The Vice President of HRBPs will report to the Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. This person provides strategic guidance and oversight for Nutrien’s retail, wholesale and corporate human resources function. Our HR Business Partners live our values, strengthen our culture, and possess a deep knowledge of the business and delivery of all HR services to internal client groups to cultivate outstanding performance. This person provides strategic HR partnership to the business leaders and the HRBP wholesale and corporate teams to enhance their growth and impact. The role will work closely with senior management on high-impact engagement activities, with a heavy focus on talent priorities, employee experience and inclusion-related initiatives. Please note that there is a preferred candidate for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the team of retail, wholesale and corporate HRBPs, this person will align the team as strategic business partners to understand business goals, issues and needs, and proactively identify and resolve opportunities impacting Nutrien’s performance and ways of working
  • Advisor to leadership at all levels in optimizing human performance, while delivering targeted solutions to meet specific organizational needs. Influences, educates, and instructs executives regarding team effectiveness, change management, and leadership
  • Monitors and escalates the pulse and health of the organization through identifying trends to assess and diagnose the needs of the business based on trends across regions. Solves complex organizational and talent issues
  • Identify trends early, mapping out solutions, and executing against the best solutions for Nutrien. Identifies areas of opportunity to strengthen capability in leadership and employees and leads effectively to deploy plans and tactics for a better employee experience
  • Monitors and provides insight to Nutrien’s positioning within the labour jurisdictions we operate, including emerging labour market trends, regulatory changes, and other external trends that may impact Nutrien’s talent strategy. Partnering with the business leaders and internal HR strategic functions to develop strategy to provide Nutrien a competitive advantage in the labour market.
  • Leads key initiatives and priorities in areas such as labour relations, culture, diversity, and leadership development, as well as facilitating the annual talent management processes. Provides advice and guidance on performance management including leadership development, accelerated development, succession planning, coaching talent reviews
  • Works to define the HRBP role and value and increase capabilities and talent of the team. Drives engagement and development with the team
  • Member of senior HR leadership team (HRLT), helping set HR strategy across Nutrien
  • Partners with HR strategic functions (Total Rewards, Talent & Organizational Effectiveness) to ensure that HR programs and processes are aligned with the business needs and are well executed
  • Advances diversity and inclusion efforts for the business. Collaborates to implement strategies to create an inclusive workplace. Approaches everything with an equity lens for design and implementation and drives an inclusive culture - Proactively engages employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Communicates openly and frequently, keeping employees informed on benefit resources, organizational events, and other pertinent information
